Monash 50th Anniversary Protest
Over 100 activists and supporters protested outside the National Gallery of Victoria where the Monash University 50th anniversary Gala Dinner was held.
Holding an array of banners, signs and posters, the protesters disrupted the proceedings with whistles, megaphones and a very loud gong!
People attending the dinner were handed leaflets and DVDs featuring undercover footage obtained from the completely unnecessary experiments conducted upon rabbits as part of Physiology class 3171.
Please voice your opposition to this cruel waste of life by sending a pre-written objection email to Monash University.

I am disgusted at Monash university for the cruel, useless vivisection being conducted there, you have a responsibility to reduce and replace animal experiments!

Stop the unnecessary and inhumane action.
Education institutions are formed to do just that - educate, and in todays technological society there are more viable and less expensive options (monetary and livelihood)as opposed to the animal abuse being carried out every day.

It is the Year 2008….and we are still experimenting on poor helpless defenseles creatures……if Monash consider themselves to be a Uni to be reckoned with then why cannot they teach tbeir students to employ their scientific learnings and apply them to specific situations?….Poor & Pathetic teachings!
Cruelty is unnecessary and absurd in this day and age!
Monash Uni is disgusting and uncouth!

Ban that appalling practice now Monash before you lose all credibility. Animal cruelty is NOT acceptable under the guise of teaching. In fact it is NEVER acceptable in any form, whether it be teaching, research or whatever. Spare a thought for those poor creatures who have to undergo that torture. How do you monsters sleep at night?

I sincerly believe that there will NEVER be peace in our world while the cruelty and abuse of animals exits.

I object to the use of live animals being used at your University surely you can use other means! It is cruel and unnecessary what you are doing there. See what is going on in your classrooms:

This does not do your name any good! shame on you to let this go on in today’s modern ages. What are you teaching those students: That animals are dispensable? Of no value. Please teach them, THAT EVERY LIFE IS OF VALUE AND MUST BE TREATED WITH CARE!
SHAME ON YOU MONASH!!

There are no winners from vivisection, only victims. From the millions of faceless, nameless, voiceless animals who suffer horrific torture and death at the hands of scientists, to the millions of students who are forcibly indoctrinated into such a depraved world just to further their educations, to the millions upon millions of sock and dying people waiting on a cure that will never come as long as such outdated, scientifically flawed research methods as vivisection are relied upon. Vivisection is a cancer that infects all parts of society and blackens everything ti touches.

I think it is absolutely discusting doing vivisection on poor defenseless sentient beings.
There are alternative modern methods that should be used than outdated methods that clearly are cruel and wont ever find a cure for disease. what is wrong with you people?

I guess this explains why I have never heard of Monash University. Is it a University for people with learning difficulties?
It must be because only someone would a severe learning difficulty would fail to understand how animal experimentation has failed to achieve ANYTHING of any value in the last 50 years, with the exception of shit loads of drugs being passed as safe coz they worked on animals, only to find they in fact harm humans greatly.
What a bunch of morons…
